Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This morning as I was cleaning up I saw these sad fruits staring at me… pleading with me… not to throw them away, but to make them beautiful again.

So we did.

After a quick search on Pinterest for the Best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Ever, one of our favourite movies, Christmas Vacation, went in the dvd player, the twinkling lights were all turned on and we jumped in the kitchen and began creating.

You have to wonder when someone claims that their banana bread is a “magical recipe that also possesses superpowers of unfathomable greatness and glory… ”  Seriously?  Proud much?  I just had to try it.  And I must say… this bold statement is spot on.

Our banana bread (well ours is technically a cake as I wanted to use a square pan rather than a loaf tin – cake size slabs seem to be easier for the little hands in our house to handle)  is perfectly moist, deliciously chocolately and has just the right amount of sweetness.

Oh and did I mention the gorgeous, lingering smell that the house was filled with?  We will be making this again and again.  Find the full recipe here.

Love to all. xx

I bake a mean chocolate chip banana cake… sometimes in cup cakes, other times in loaves, hardly as cakes. Hahaha. The oil makes the cake moist. Butter doesn’t do that, I think. It’s also better when banana is really ripe.

I’ve just baked on Sunday night. It’s always a hit with hubby. 😝 He took one loaf to work and little princess will take some slices for her picnic at nursery school later. 😊

But, I’ll check out this recipe πŸ˜„

    1. Yep it’s definitely the oil that makes it moist. Banana bread is so versitile. And I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t like it, even if they don’t like bananas! πŸ˜‰
